Aims & Scope

Aims

The Journal of Cellular and Molecular Biology (JCellMol) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research articles, reviews, and perspectives in the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of cellular and molecular biology. Our aim is to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and professionals to disseminate their findings, share insights, and foster collaborations that advance our understanding of the fundamental principles governing life at the cellular and molecular levels.

Scope

JCellMol welcomes submissions across a broad spectrum of topics within cellular and molecular biology. Our scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Cellular Structure and Function: Investigations into the organization, dynamics, and function of cells, including organelles, membranes, cytoskeleton, and extracellular matrix.

  2. Molecular Genetics and Genomics: Studies focusing on the structure, function, and regulation of genes, as well as the analysis of genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenetic modifications.

  3. Signal Transduction Pathways: Research elucidating the mechanisms by which cells sense and respond to external stimuli through signaling cascades, including receptor-mediated pathways and intracellular signaling networks.

  4. Cell Signaling and Communication: Exploration of intercellular communication mechanisms, including paracrine and autocrine signaling, hormonal signaling, and cell-cell interactions in physiological and pathological contexts.

  5. Molecular Mechanisms of Disease: Investigations into the molecular basis of human diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic diseases, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases.

  6. Cell Cycle Regulation: Studies on the regulation of cell cycle progression, checkpoints, and the molecular mechanisms underlying cell cycle control, cell proliferation, and cell fate determination.

  7. Gene Expression and Regulation: Research focused on transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation, chromatin remodeling, RNA processing, and translational control mechanisms.

  8. Molecular Biology Techniques and Methodologies: Development and application of innovative molecular biology techniques, tools, and methodologies for studying cellular and molecular processes.

  9. Stem Cell Biology: Investigations into the biology of stem cells, including pluripotent and multipotent stem cells, tissue-specific stem cells, stem cell niches, and stem cell-based therapies.

  10. Developmental Biology: Studies on the molecular mechanisms underlying embryonic development, tissue morphogenesis, organogenesis, and patterning during embryogenesis and postnatal development.

  11. Immunology and Host-Pathogen Interactions: Research exploring the molecular basis of immune responses, immune cell development and function, immunological disorders, and host-pathogen interactions.

  12. Cancer Biology: Investigations into the molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, tumor progression, metastasis, cancer stem cells, tumor microenvironment, and therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.

  13. Neuroscience and Neurobiology: Studies focusing on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying nervous system development, neuronal function, synaptic transmission, neurodegenerative diseases, and neural plasticity.

  14. Microbiology and Virology: Research on the molecular biology of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protists, as well as the molecular mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis, virulence, and antimicrobial resistance.

Submission Guidelines

JCellMol welcomes original research articles, review papers, mini-reviews, perspectives, and short communications. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review by experts in the field to ensure scientific integrity, methodological rigor, and scholarly merit. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal's guidelines and submitted online through our manuscript submission system.

Publication Ethics

JCellMol is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Authors are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines and standards for conducting and reporting research. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of misconduct are strictly prohibited.

Open Access Policy

JCellMol is an open-access journal, freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription charges or access barriers. All articles are published under a Creative Commons license, allowing for unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.
